Indonesia Open: Praveen, Melati Beaten by Non-Seeded Players
jpnn.com, BALI - Indonesian players Praveen Jordan and Melati Daeva Oktavianti have been eliminated from the 2021 Indonesia Open after being defeated by the Danish duo, Mathias Christiansen and Alexandra Boje.
Competing at the Bali International Convention Center, Thursday (25/11), the second seed of the Super 1000 tournament lost two straight games with a score of 21-23 and 14-21.
This defeat repeated the low achievement of the couple at the 2021 Indonesia Masters.
In that event, Praveen and Melati also failed to shine after losing in the first round to non-seeded doubles from India, Dhruv Kapila and Reddy N. Sikki.
After the match, Melati admitted that she had played optimally, but the opponent did have a pretty solid defense, which made their attacks often deadlocked.
"Their defense was very tight, and several times we tried to attack, but we didn't penetrate. We have used our best game strategy," said Melati.

In addition, Melati also said that their game was not solid in the previous match.
"From me, it is necessary to strengthen the energy. Also, the individual game needs to be improved," said Melati. (mcr16/mcr20/jpnn)
