Seven NTB Migrant Workers Drown in Johor Bahru Waters
jpnn.com, NUSA TENGGARA BARAT - The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Police are investigating the death of seven Indonesian migrant workers, who traveled illegally by sea and drowned in the waters of Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
"We will seek information in the field first," said NTB Police general criminal investigation director Senior Commissioner Hari Brata.
The seven victims have been identified by the police. They included Bangsal Udin from Kawo village, Pujut district; Sopian from Sukaraja village, East Praya district; and Syech Mulachela from Kopang Rembiga village, Kopang district.
There were also Ahmad Abdullah Patoni from Kuang Baru village, Sakra district; Julia Ningsih from Dasan Borok village, Suralaga district; Herman from Keruak village, Keruak district; and finally, Juminah from Aik Dewa village, Pringgasela district.
The bodies have been sent home.
Hari said that from a preliminary investigation by the police, they found that the victims received Rp 1 million to Rp 10 million for accommodation and transportation.
