Police Deny Rejecting Report of Suicide Victim Novia Widyasari
jpnn.com, JAKARTA - A National Police spokesman, Senior Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan, has denied the police ever rejecting a report made by alleged suicide victim Novia Widyasari Rahayu (23) regarding the alleged rape committed by Second Brigadier Randy Bagus Hari Sasongko.
Ramadhan ensured that there had never been a report from Novia to the police.
"There had been no reports or complaints to the police, either at the Resort Police or the Regional Police," Ramadhan told reporters, Monday (6/12).
The man said that Novia had never filed a report regarding the actions of Randy. He said his party had checked this at the Resort Police and Regional Police.
This mid-level officer emphasized that the police were actively investigating such cases that went viral on social media.
"In fact, the National Police are actively investigating cases and quickly and decisively taking action against members who commit violations," said Ramadhan.
Komnas HAM commissioner Beka Ulung Hapsara previously highlighted the case of Novia Widyasari (23), who allegedly drank poison due to depression.
He said that in addition to taking action against Randy, the police needed to investigate the alleged rejection of Novia's past complaint.
The police have denied the police ever rejecting a report made by Novia Widyasari Rahayu regarding the alleged rape committed by Second Brigadier Randy Bagus.
