The government has continued to carry out a number of mitigation measures, including setting up emergency tents.
On Sunday (5/12), Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini visited the areas affected by the eruption in Penanggal village, Candipuro district, Lumajang regency.

Risma said that the impact of the eruption was very big and it had caused trauma for the people on the slopes of Mount Semeru.
She said the government must prioritize a place of refuge that was safe for the survivors.
"We should at least minimize the impact of the disaster for the refugees, and here [in Penanggal village] we will build 10 tents. If they are not enough, we will add it to 20 tents," she said.
She said that the victims' beds would be divided so that they were evenly distributed and not overcrowded.
