jpnn.com, TEBING TINGGI - Senior Adjutant Commissioner Agus Sugiyarso was removed from his position as the Tebing Tinggi Police chief in North Sumatra after his wife showed off a wad of money on TikTok.

Agus was removed based on a telegram issued by the National Police chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

The letter was numbered ST/2280/X/KEP/2021 and dated October 31, 2021.

In the letter, Agus was said to be put as a middle officer at the North Sumatra Police in order to evaluate the position.

"The police chief was pulled to the regional police for evaluation," said North Sumatran Police chief Inspector General RZ Panca Putra Simanjuntak, Tuesday (2/11).

Panca said the actions of Agus's wife were deemed not to be in accordance with the National Police chief regulation No. 10/2017 regarding the rules for police members and their families to avoid a luxurious lifestyle.

For that, said Panca, members of the force who violated the rules would be given sanctions.

"Even though it was not exactly him that did it, he must have known that the order of not showing pictures of hedonism and property [also applies to his family]. This is a consequence for being a member of the police," said Panca.
