jpnn.com, JAKARTA - At least 200 vocational high school teachers from 30 provinces in Indonesia have received short training on tourism from the Chinese government online.

According to the Education and Culture Attaché at the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, Yaya Sutarya, the training was given following the reopening of Bali tourism for foreign tourists since last October.

"This program is part of the vocational education cooperation between Indonesia and China," Yaya said, Sunday (7/11).

Before the pandemic, China was the largest contributor of foreign tourists to Indonesia, especially to Bali, with an average number of visits reaching 2.5 million a year.

"The Indonesian Embassy in Beijing continues to encourage efforts to improve the quality of Indonesian teachers and lecturers through training schemes packaged in the form of short courses," said Yaya.

In the last three months, the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing has held various online short training programs in collaboration with the China Language and Learning Cooperation (CLEC) of the Chinese Ministry of Education and the ASEAN-China Center (ACC).

Previously, high achieving primary and secondary school principals in Indonesia received leadership training.

In the training, participants were provided with materials on how to innovate and design superior programs, said Yaya.
