Former President SBY Has Prostate Cancer
jpnn.com, JAKARTA - Former president of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) is reportedly having prostate cancer. This was confirmed by Ossy Dermawan, SBY's personal staff member.
Ossy said SBY was known to have early-stage prostate cancer after an examination by a team of doctors.
"After consulting with a team of Indonesian doctors including senior urologists, medical treatment will be carried out at a hospital abroad," said Ossy in a written statement received by JPNN.com, Tuesday (2/11).
He added that SBY would be treated at a hospital with advanced technology to treat prostate cancer.
"After studying all the health data of Pak SBY, the team of doctors from abroad expressed their optimism to be able to overcome the illness suffered," he continued.
The Democrat Party politician also revealed that SBY had communicated with President Joko Widodo to report plans for treatment abroad.
"President Jokowi gave a good response and said that one or two members of the Presidential Doctors Team would also assist in the treatment," he said.
Ossy also emphasized that the chairman of the Democratic Party was still doing his daily activities as usual.
