Jonatan Christie and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting have been ruled out due to injury.

There are also other names who will not participate in the game, including Tommy Sugiarto (men's single), Ruselli Hartawan (women's single), Bagas Maulana and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri (men's doubles), Pramudya Kusumawardhana and Yeremia Erich Rambitan (men's doubles), Hafiz Faizal and Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja (mixed doubles), as well as Adnan Maulana and Mychelle Crhystine Bandaso (mixed doubles).

It is said that the withdrawal of Indonesian players is due to their Covid-19 vaccination. Those who are vaccinated with Chinese Sinovac cannot enter a number of European countries.

Japan

The Rising Sun team is without a number of names, such as the women's singles world number three, Nozomi Okuhara, and the women's doubles Ayako Sakuramoto and Yukiko Takahata.

It is not known why they have withdrawn from the 2021 French Open. Nozomi, Ayako, and Yukiko have also been absent at the 2021 Denmark Open.

China

China will not sent any representatives to the international tournament after making comebacks in the Sudirman Cup, Thomas and Uber Cups, and the 2021 Denmark Open.

There has been no official announcement from the Badminton Association of China why they make the decision.

Nevertheless, badminton lovers need no worry because the 2021 French Open 2021 will present some world-class stars.

In the men's singles, the top three names in the BWF rankings, namely Kento Momota from Japan, as well as Viktor Axelsen and Anders Antonsen from Denmark, will still take part in this event.

In the men's doubles, Indonesian mainstay pairs Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan, as well as Fajar Alfian and Rian Ardianto will compete. (bwf/mcr15/mcr20/jpnn)
