jpnn.com, NUSA TENGGARA BARAT - President Joko Widodo tested out the sensation of riding on the Mandalika Circuit in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Friday (12/11).
After trying out the 4.3 kilometer circuit, he inaugurated the track.

The President was accompanied by several Cabinet members, including Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Minister Basuki Hadimuljono and Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia.
Then, there were also Peoples Consultative Assembly (MPR) Speaker Bambang Soesatyo, Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) president director Abdulbar M. Mansoer, NTB Governor H. Zulkieflimansyah, and NTB Police chief Inspector General M. Iqbal.

After trying out the racing track, President Jokowi immediately expressed his admiration.
He assessed that the 17 bend points on the Mandalika Circuit were sharp and difficult.

"I think there are a lot of sharp corners. There are 17 corner points, and I think all of them are difficult. It's difficult for me, maybe not for the racers," said Jokowi.
Jokowi said that the Mandalika Circuit was ready to host the upcoming World Superbike (WSBK) racing event on November 19-21 and MotoGP in March 2022.
In addition to inaugurating the Mandalika Circuit, the President also inaugurated the 17.3 kilometer bypass road connecting Lombok International Airport and Mandalika Special Economic Zone.
"With this new road, it only takes 15 minutes from the airport to Mandalika," he said. (antara/lia/mcr20/JPNN)
