jpnn.com, JAKARTA - The racing event Formula E is set to be held in Ancol, North Jakarta, next year.
This was announced by the Chief Executive of the Formula E event, Ahmad Sahroni, together with Jakarta Propertindo President Director Widi Amanasto, Ancol President Director Teuku Sahir, and Indonesian racer Ananda Mikola, on Wednesday (22/12).

"Just this morning, we were given approval to hold the Formula E event in Ancol," said Sahroni.
According to Sahroni, Ancol was chosen because it represented Jakarta and did not interfere with public roads.

"Ancol is dynamic and iconic in Jakarta, and it will not disturb people's infrastructure," he said.
Previously, there were five alternative locations for the Formula E event. Apart from Ancol, there were the Jakarta International Expo convention center, Jalan Sudirman, the Jakarta International Stadium, and Pantai Indah Kapuk.

According to the Chairman of the Formula E Steering Committee Bambang Soesatyo, who is also the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) chairman, Formula E Operations (FEO) representatives have come to Jakarta to inspect the five locations. (mcr4/mcr20/jpnn)
