Cyber Building Fire in South Jakarta Kills Two Internship Teens

jpnn.com, JAKARTA SELATAN - Two victims died as a result of a fire that occurred in the Cyber Building on Jalan Kuningan Barat Raya, Mampang, South Jakarta, Thursday (2/12) afternoon. They were residents of Cimanggis district, Depok, West Java.

The first victim was Seto Fachrudin (18), a resident of Curug village, while the other one was Muhammad Redzuan Gaddafi (17), a resident of Mekarsari village.

Both of them were Taruna Bhakti Vocational High School students who were participating in on-the-job training at a company located in the Cyber Building.

Previously, Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency spokesman Mulat Wijayanto revealed that three people were trapped on the second floor of the building.

Two of the three people were Seto and Redzuan. The other one trapped was Bagus (20), who had fainted but then regained consciousness.

"Two bodies of the dead victims were already taken to the Mampang Hospital," said Mulat.

According to him, authorities are still cooling off the building.

The Jakarta fire investigation team was also dispatched to inspect the place. (mcr19/mcr20/jpnn)
