jpnn.com, JAKARTA - East Java and West Java were provinces with most frequent weather disaster cases in Indonesia throughout November 2021, according to the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB).
BNPB head Lt. Gen. Suharyanto reported that during November 2021, there were 424 weather disaster cases in Indonesia, including floods and landslides, which resulted in 30 fatal and non-fatal victims.

"The majority of flood, extreme weather, and landslide cases occurred in the provinces of East Java and West Java," said Suharyanto during a working meeting with House Commission VIII at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (13/12).
On the other hand, said Suharyanto, forest and land fires regularly occurred in South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan.

Flooding events were mostly found in Bandung, Karawang, North Luwu, Melawi, Katingan, Sintang, South Barito, Kapuas Hulu, and Palangkaraya in November 2021.
Meanwhile, landslides occurred in Bogor, Sukabumi, and Kuningan.

Other extreme weather disasters were also found in Bogor, Sidoarjo, and Serang.
"Forest and land fires occurred in Tanah Laut Regency, Tanah Bumbu Regency, West Kotawaringin Regency, the Hulu Sungai area, and Banjarmasin," said Suharyanto. (ast/mcr20/jpnn)
