Jokowi Inaugurates 12 Ambassadors

jpnn.com, JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo inaugurated 12 extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors to a number of countries. The inauguration was held at the State Palace, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (17/11).

The appointment of these ambassadors is stated in the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 139/P of 2021.

Jokowi dictated the oath of office to the ambassadors that were to be sworn in.

"I swear that I will be appointed to be an extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador that is loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will carry out all laws and regulations as strict as possible for the sake of my service to the nation and state," said the President.

The inauguration ceremony was held with strict health protocols. The ambassadors who were being appointed had previously attended necessary health checks.

A number of limited guests were present, including Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, former president Megawati Soekarnoputri, House Speaker Puan Maharani, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and State Intelligence Agency (BIN) head Budi Gunawan.

There were also Deputy Foreign Minister Mahendra Siregar, Army Chief of Staff General Dudung Abdurachman, Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo, Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Yudo Margono, former TNI Commander Air Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and former BNPB head Ganip Warsito.

The following is the list of the 12 ambassadors appointed by President Jokowi:

1. Muhammad Prakosa, Ambassador to the Republic of Italy, concurrently with the Republic of Malta, Republic of San Marino, Republic of Cyprus, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), International Fund and Agriculture Development (IFAD), World Food Program (WFP), and International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT), based in Rome.

2. Ghafur Akbar Dharmaputra, Ambassador to Ukraine, concurrently with the Republic of Armenia and Georgia, based in Kyiv.

3. Suwartini Wirta, Ambassador to the Republic of Croatia, based in Zagreb.

4. Rudy Alfonso, Ambassador to the Republic of Portugal, based in Lisbon.

5. Anita Lidya Luhulima, Ambassador to the Republic of Poland, based in Warsaw.

6. Zuhairi Misrawi, Ambassador to the Republic of Tunisia, based in Tunis.

7. Ina Hagniningtyas Krisnamurthi, Ambassador to the Republic of India, concurrently with the Kingdom of Bhutan, based in New Delhi.

8. R. Heru Hartanto Subolo, Ambassador to the People's Republic of Bangladesh, concurrently with the Democratic Republic of Nepal, based in Dhaka.

9. Daniel Tumpal Sumurung Simanjuntak, Ambassador to Canada, concurrently with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), based in Ottawa.

10. Damos Dumoli Agusman, Ambassador to the Republic of Austria, concurrently Slovenia and the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) consisting of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID), and the International AntiCorruption Academy (IACA), based in Vienna.

11. Gandi Sulistiyanto Soeherman, Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, based in Seoul.

12. Tri Yogo Jatmiko, Ambassador to the United Republic of Tanzania, concurrently with the Republic of Burundi and the Republic of Rwanda, based in Dar Es Salaam. (tan/mcr20/jpnn)
