Investigators still need additional information and other evidence to uncover this case.

Based on the provisional investigation, the police suspect that the motive for the slashing carried out by the perpetrators was due to the influence of alcohol.

The perpetrators were offended to see the victim passing by on a motorcycle with his friend.

Jansen said that the lack of witnesses at the scene made it difficult for investigators to hunt down the perpetrators.

In addition, the crime occurred at night, so the CCTV footage was not very clear.

"But we will still try to uncover it," he said.

The victim's condition gradually improved after receiving treatment at the Sanglah Hospital.

The victim was slashed in the back of the head.

Previously, the uncle of the victim, Made Ardana, said that his nephew was slashed with a sickle by one of the perpetrators.

They attempted to slash him three times.

However, his nephew managed to dodge two slashes.

In the third slash, the sickle hit the back of the head.

Hendra and his friend, I Wayan Feryana, ran away leaving the motorcycle at the scene.

The two of them fled towards Simpang Temacun.

Arriving at the intersection, Hendra fled to the east with a wound on the back of his head.

Meanwhile, Wayan fled to the west uninjured. (rb/dre/pra/mcr20/JPR)
