jpnn.com, BALI - The Law and Human Rights Ministry's regional office in Bali has stated that the tourist island's airport is ready to welcome international flights as it expects to handle security screening of 1,000 international travelers in less than one hour.
"We are very ready to welcome the reopening of international routes," said the head of the regional office, Jamaruli Manihuruk, on Thursday (14/10).

The I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali has 16 checkpoints for foreigners and can certainly anticipate increased waves of foreign tourist arrivals.
However, the process will be gradual. "We don't expect foreign visits to be as many as normal," said Jamaruli.

In each checkpoint, there are two security screening officers on standby, each of whom is expected to screen one passenger for only about a minute.
Jamaruli admitted that he was not worried about the readiness of his personnel as the international routes open.

"So far, we have not reduced the number of our officers at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport," he said.
International flights to Bali have been reopened since October 14, 2021 as the number of Covid-19 spreads is being suppressed.
Since, the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry has been actively promoting international travel to Bali, together with representatives of the Indonesian Travel Bureau in 19 other countries. (gie/mcr20/jpnn)
