Sales Manager Embezzles Korean's Credit Card in Bali

jpnn.com, DENPASAR - A sales manager of the Trans Studio Denpasar Supermarket, identified with the initials TAW (30), has been officially named as a suspect for breaking into the credit card of a South Korean citizen named Soo Nil Park (59).

Investigators snared the burglar of the credit card worth Rp 38.8 million for violating Article 362 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of five years in prison.

"The legal process is still ongoing," said Denpasar Police chief Senior Commissioner Jansen Panjaitan, Tuesday (2/11).

The incident began on Tuesday (5/10) at around 10.57 a.m. local time when the victim was shopping for towels at the Trans Studio Denpasar Supermarket.

During the payment process at the cashier, the victim used a credit card.

After completing the payment, the victim forgot to take his credit card back.

The victim realized that he had lost the credit card when he was at a restaurant on Jalan Muhammad Yamin V Renon, Denpasar, on October 17, 2021.

"The victim immediately called the bank in Korea. The bank explained that his credit card was used for transactions from October 5 to October 16 for Rp 38.8 million in various places by unknown user," said Jansen.

The victim then reported the incident to the Denpasar Police.

Based on the victim's report, Denpasar Police investigators immediately made an arrest on Sunday (31/10) around Jalan Imam Bonjol.

"This perpetrator was a sales manager and admitted that he had gotten the credit card that was left at the cashier. He used the credit card to shop for goods," he said.

From the perpetrator, the police secured a number of pieces of evidence.

Among them were one 43 inch Samsung TV, one dispenser, one fan, two Samsung A32 and Poco X3 GT mobile phones, one vape, a baby food holder, and three baby dolls. (antara/lia/mcr20/jpnn)
