Two Shipwreck Victims in Bali Found, One Declared Dead

jpnn.com, BALI - Two crew members of KM Liberty 1, which was hit by a storm in the waters north of Bali, were found.

The two victims were among nine crew members on that ship. Seven crew members are still missing.

Both victims were found by the SPOB Seroja 01 ship in the waters north of Bali on Wednesday (27/10) at 3.30 p.m. local time.

"The two victims were Rivaldy Refly, an oil clerk, and Hadiq Zain, a chef," said Head of the Bali Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Gede Darmada in a press release.

"When they were found, Rivaldy was still safe, but Hadiq was already dead," he added.

He said that currently, the SPOB Seroja 01 ship was evacuating the two victims to Lembar Harbor, Lombok.

"We have coordinated with the Mataram Search and Rescue Agency. The estimated arrival time at Lembar Harbor is around 6 in the morning," said Gede.

Basarnas will conduct a search at the location where the victim was found, which was about 40.56 NM with heading 51.29° from Celukan Bawang Harbor, Buleleng.

KM Liberty 1 reportedly left the port of Tanjung Perak, Surabaya, on Friday (10/22) at around midnight to Reo Flores, NTT.
