Man Stabs Police Officer in Patrol Car in France
jpnn.com, PRANCIS - A police officer in Cannes, southern France, was injured after being stabbed with a knife, Monday (8/11).
"The perpetrator has been arrested," said French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin.
The attack in Cannes came at a time when violent crime and elements of terrorism are among the main concerns of voters ahead of the 2022 French presidential election.
"I will go directly to the scene this morning and support the national police and the city of Cannes," Darmanin tweeted.
BFM TV, citing a police source, said the assailant opened the door of a police car parked in front of the police station and stabbed the policeman behind the wheel.
The suspect then tried to attack the second policeman in the car.
