jpnn.com, JAKARTA - Jakarta Police criminal investigators have named a man named Joseph Suryadi a suspect in an alleged blasphemy case.
A Twitter hashtag urging the police to arrest Joseph appeared on the social media platform after user @NayoanAngelyca uploaded screenshots of the man allegedly making fun of Prophet Muhammad on a WhatsApp group.

Jakarta Police spokesman Senior Commissioner Endra Zulpan said the police named Joseph a suspect after investigators examined him on Tuesday (14/12).
"Today, investigators from the special criminal unit have named him a suspect," said Zulpan in his office, Wednesday (15/12).

The middle-ranking officer confirmed that his party had arrested Joseph for the alleged blasphemy case.
Zulpan said that the police secured evidence in the forms of screenshots, the suspect's cellphone, ID card, and a flash disk.

Joseph was charged under Law Number 11/2016 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE), as amended by Law Number 16/2016, as well as Article 156 and Article 166 of the Criminal Code.
