North Sumatra Police Chief Apologizes for His Subordinates' Wrongdoing

jpnn.com, SUMATERA UTARA - North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Panca Putra Simanjuntak has apologized to the public because of the frequent violations committed by his subordinates.

Recently, a number of North Sumatra Police personnel have been in the spotlight for their wrongdoing.

They were involved in various cases, including the mismanagement of cases, extortion, and abuse against the wife of a prisoner.

"I, as the North Sumatra Police Chief, apologize because there are still members who commit violations," said Panca during a meeting with religious leaders at the Madani Hotel, Jalan Sisingamangaraja, Medan, Wednesday (8/12).

Panca requested that the community reprimand its members if they were proven wrong.

As the head of the regional police, Panca argued that he had paid attention to all levels of the force to provide maximum services to the community.

"However, we cannot work alone, so we ask for support from all religious leaders. Problems like gambling and drugs are still common," he said.

The two-star general also thanked all religious leaders who continued to support to the North Sumatra Police in providing services to the community.

The gathering was attended by executives from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), the Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB), the Representatives of Indonesian Buddhists (Walubi), the Communion of Indonesian Churches (PGI), and other faith leaders. (mcr22/mcr20/jpnn)
