jpnn.com, LOMBOK TIMUR - Two residents of the South Marang hamlet, Kotaraja village, Sikur district, East Lombok regency, West Nusa Tenggara, named Hasbi and M. Kadry Ramadan, are suspected of being the victims of police shootings last Monday (8/11) night.

Both of them were reportedly present to witness H. Alawi's apology at TGH Ajibar's house.

M. Kadary's lawyer, Habib Al Qutbi, said that the incident began with a debate between H. Alawi and TGH Ajibar on social media.

H. Alawi allegedly insulted TGH Ajibar, which sparked the anger of TGH Ajibar's congregation members, who then came to H. Alawi's house. However, H. Alawi was not at home at that time.

After that, the local village administration and the police tried to make peace for both parties.

As a result, Hasbi and M. Kadry were reportedly hit by wrong shots.

"There was a lot of blood," Habib said.

The two victims were eventually rushed to the nearest health center and are still being treated there.

Not accepting the incident, the victims' families say they will report to the West Nusa Tenggara Police.

"We ask that the perpetrators be thoroughly investigated and processed according to the applicable mechanism," said Habib.

Meanwhile, East Lombok Police chief Senior Adjutant Commissioner Herman Suriyono strongly denied any wrong shootings by his members. According to the police, two people were injured not because of being shot, but because they were hit by blunt objects. (RL/der/mcr20/JPNN)
