Covid-19 Cases Rise Again, Jakarta Tops Daily Infections

jpnn.com, JAKARTA - The Covid-19 task force reported on Wednesday (22/12) that the number of Covid-19 cases increased by 179 nationally.

Jakarta had the highest daily infections compared to other provinces, recording 43 positive cases.

Then, 29 new positive cases were recorded in the Riau Islands, 19 cases in West Java, and 17 cases in Central Java.

Meanwhile, the number of recovered patients was the highest in West Java with 63, followed by Papua with 49, Central Java with 26, Jakarta with 21, and Yogyakarta with 17.

Deaths occurred in six provinces, namely South Sumatra with 3 people, Central Java with 2 people, Riau with 2 people, East Java with 1 person, South Sulawesi with 1 person, and Lampung with 1 person.

That the total number of confirmed cases to date has reached 4,261,072 since the first case was detected in March 2020.

Then, the number of recoveries increased by 252, bringing the total to 4,112,292.

The number of deaths increased by 10, bringing the total to 144,034.

Thus, the number of active cases decreased by 83 to 4,746.

Meanwhile, there are 5,231 suspected Covid-19 cases.

A total of 298,922 specimens were examined today.
