Former Jakarta Governor Ahok Mourns Haji Lulung's Death

jpnn.com, JAKARTA - Former Jakarta governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama a.k.a. Ahok has mourned the death of senior politician Abraham Lunggana, who was more well-known as Haji Lulung.

Lulung passed away at the Harapan Kita Hospital, West Jakarta, on Tuesday (13/12) morning.

"My deepest condolences. May the spirit of the deceased be accepted by Allah," Ahok said, Tuesday.

The chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Jakarta faction, Eko Hendro Purnomo, said Lulung was a good figure who always embraced the young generation.

"He was a comrade and a good person, and was wise towards the young," said Eko.

He also expressed his condolences for the death of Lulung.

"Hopefully, his deeds of worship are accepted by Him, all sins are forgiven, and the family left behind is given peace," said Eko.

Lulung's death was revealed by House member Achmad Baidowi.

"We just received the sad news that Haji Lulung passed away," said Baidowi earlier on Tuesday.

"May his mistakes and sins during his lifetime be forgiven," he added.

Lulung was 62. He had been treated intensively at the Harapan Kita Hospital due to heart disease. (ast/mcr20/jpnn)
