jpnn.com, AMERIKA - Without waiting for the government's official decision on the health emergency, Apple Inc. has decided to close all of its retail stores in New York City in response to the surge in Covid-19 cases in the United States.
A total of seven retail stores were closed by the tech company on Monday (27/12). Customers at these stores could pick up orders online, an Apple spokesperson said.

The seven stores that were closed included outlets on Fifth Avenue, Grand Central, and SoHo.
Earlier this month, Apple said it had temporarily closed three stores in the US and Canada following a rise in Covid-19 cases and the presence of exposed store employees.

For the same reason, Apple has also ordered that all of its customers and employees wear masks at its retail stores in the US.
Globally, concerns over Omicron variants have prompted major companies to tighten their protocols.

The escalating cases also led to the reinstatement of vaccine orders or Covid-19 tests nationwide for big businesses covering 80 million US workers by a US appeals court earlier this month.
