jpnn.com, JAKARTA - Indonesia has received two more million doses of Sinovac vaccine from the Chinese government.

"The Sinovac vaccine arrived at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport today is a result of the third phase of dose-sharing cooperation with the Chinese government," said Foreign Ministry's East Asia director, Santo Darmosumarto, in a written statement, Tuesday (21/12).

Thus, he continued, the total vaccine sent by China to Indonesia had reached four million doses.

The dose-sharing collaboration is part of the Indonesia-China comprehensive strategic partnership to jointly face Covid-19 challenges.

Santo emphasized that cooperation between countries was extremely important amid the pandemic.

"For this, the Indonesian government expresses its deepest gratitude to the Chinese government," said Santo.

Santo said Indonesia continued to fight against discrimination and politicization of vaccines and to voice equality of access to vaccines for all countries.

Indonesia, he added, was at the forefront to urge for efforts to reorganize the world's health architecture to face future health challenges.

Currently, Indonesia is one of five countries with the highest rates of complete Covid-19 vaccination in the world.

With the number of vaccine recipients amounting to 106 million people, Indonesia's is only behind other top-populated countries like China, India, the United States, and Brazil.
