jpnn.com, INDIA - The cause of the deadly accident that took the life of former Indian beauty queen Ansi Kabeer has finally been revealed.
The accident occurred after Ansi's car was chased by a drug dealer named Saiju Thankachan.

The car in which Ansi and her friend, 2019 Miss Kerala runner-up Anjana Shajana, was traveling, hit a tree after being chased by Saiju.
"CCTV footage has shown that a chase happened between the two cars," said A Ananthalal, an inspector of the Panangad Police, as quoted by New Indian Express, Wednesday (8/12).

The accident that occurred on November 1, 2021, killed both models.
The driver, Abdul Rahman, survived and only suffered minor injuries.

Saiju, who chased Ansi's car from the Fort Kochi Hotel to Chakkaraparambu, was arrested by the local police on Friday (3/12).
Kochi Police Commissioner CH Nagaraju confirmed that Saiju's pursuit led to the accident that resulted in the victims' deaths.
"He was following the models with malicious intent," said Nagaraju.
Nagaraju revealed that Saiju was involved in a drug ring supplying parties.
"He had close links to drug networks and was used to supply drugs at parties. He was reported to have harassed women at parties," Nagaraju said.
However, it was not explained why Saiju followed Ansi's car.
"Their friend Abdul Rahman, who was driving, had hastened to escape Saiju," Nagaraju added. (jlo/mcr20/jpnn)
