What You Need to Know Before Getting on Train
jpnn.com, JAKARTA - The requirement for taking long-distance trains in Indonesia is now simpler. Prospective passengers just need to bring a Covid-19 rapid test certificate with a negative result. They should be tested a maximum of 24 hours before departure.
This provision is effective starting November 3, 2021.
The regulation adjusts to the issuance of the Ministry of Transportation's Circular Letter Number 97/2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Rail Transportation During the Covid-19 Pandemic.
"[State-owned train operator] KAI always follows and complies with all regulations from the government in preventing the spread of Covid-19 on rail transportation modes," said KAI's VP of Public Relations, Joni Martinus.
To help prospective customers complete this requirement, the company has provided 71 stations that serve antigen rapid test for Rp 45,000.
"So far in 2021, the KAI has served 1.6 million rapid test participants at the stations as of November 2," Joni reported.

Joni also ensured that the KAI would continue to implement health protocols in a disciplined manner and would only allow prospective passengers who meet this requirement to board the train. (chi/mcr20/jpnn)
