Minions Kill Thailand in Hylo Open Semifinals

jpnn.com, JERMAN - Indonesian men's doubles Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo and Marcus Fernaldi Gideon, a.k.a the Minions, appeared fierce and beat Thai duo Supak Jomkoh and Kittinupong Kedren in the semifinals of the 2021 Hylo Open.

Competing at the Saarlandhalle Arena, Saturday (06/11), the Minions won two straight games with a score of 21-17 and 21-16 in just 33 minutes.

In the first game, the Minions appeared convincing and immediately took a 6-4 lead.

However, the Thai duo gave resistance until the score was equal to 6-6.

Kevin's game in front of the net really made it difficult for Supak and Kittinupong.

The Minions finally closed the first interval with an 11-10 advantage.

After the break, the Thai doubles, who are ranked 82 in the world, were able to make things difficult for the Minions until the score was back at 12-12.

However, the Minions went back 16-13 before finally closing the first game with a 21-17 advantage.

Entering the second game, Kevin and Marcus were 1-2 behind Supak and Kittinupong.

Luckily, the world's number one doubles immediately rose and turned 7-4 ahead.

The Minions finally closed the second interval with a score of 11-7.

After the interval, the Thai duo looked depressed and often made mistakes.

The Minions used this to widen the score gap to 17-10.

The advantage of seven points gave the Minions the upper hand and was able to close the second game with a 21-16 victory.

These results led the Minions to advance to the Hylo Open final to challenge the winner of the match between Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin and Pramudya Kusumawardana and Yeremia Erich Yotje Yacob Rambitan, all of whom from Indonesia.
