Several names performed brilliantly and gave a breath of fresh air to the world of Indonesian badminton.

Indonesia's men's doubles teams are in the spotlight.

Of the six representative pairs sent, five were able to reach the quarter finals of the 2021 Hylo Open.

According to @BadmintonTalk, this is the first time in the history of Indonesia that five pairs pass to the quarter finals of a BWF tournament.

The five representative pairs are Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo and Marcus Fernaldi Gideon, Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan, Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin, and Pramudya Kusumawardana and Yeremia Erich Rambitan.

Three pairs have even entered the semifinals, namely Kevin and Marcus, Leo and Daniel, and Pramudya and Jeremiah.

Kevin and Marcus advanced to the semifinals after getting rid of Danish doubles Daniel Lungard and Mathias Thyrri with a score of 21-14 and 21-15.

In the semifinals, Kevin and Marcus will face Supak Jomkoh and Kittinupong Kedren from Thailand, who in the previous match defeated Ben Lane and Sean Vendy from England through a rubber game 21-18, 20-22, and 21-18.

In the quarter finals, the future players of Indonesia eliminated their seniors, who were ranked far above them.

Leo and Daniel were unexpectedly able to outperform the second seed in this tournament, namely Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan, with a score of 22-20 and 21-17.

Meanwhile, Pramudya and Yeremia beat the third seed, Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto, with a 21-11 and 25-23 advantage.
