jpnn.com, JAKARTA - Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) President Director Widi Amanasto has revealed the Formula E circuit will take place in the Ancol Dreamland area, North Jakarta.
The organizing committee announced Ancol as the venue for the electric car racing circuit after obtaining approval from Formula E Operations (FEO) and the International Automobile Federation (FIA) on Wednesday (22/12).

Widi said the Formula E racing circuit would be shaped like the horse replica used in kuda lumping (traditional Javanese dance). According to him, it was deliberately designed to resemble the national icon.
When watching Formula E, the audience will be able to see the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) from there.

Formula E technical team leader Ananda Mikola said that Ancol was chosen because of its adequate area. The selection of Ancol has also gone through a long study by the FEO and FIA.
"Because Ancol is 35 hectares wide, it can accommodate a 2.4-kilometer-long and 15-meter-wide circuit. It looks like a highway, not a permanent circuit," he said. (mcr4/mcr20/jpnn)
