jpnn.com, SUMATERA SELATAN - One of three victims of alleged harassment by a lecturer at Sriwijaya University (Unsri) finally reported the case to the South Sumatra Police, Tuesday (30/11).
A sub-directorate head of the South Sumatra Police, Commissioner Masnoni, confirmed the information, saying that the victim was identified with the initials Dr (22).

"That's right, the victim has come to the South Sumatra Police. Previously, we were asked to wait for disposition and wait for instructions from the general criminal directorate, and now we finally have the report," she said on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the victim's statement, Masnoni continued, the incident occurred when she met a supervisor to ask for a signature for the revision of her thesis. The lecturer was in his room at the Unsri Indralaya campus.

"From the victim's confession, before getting the signature, she was physically harassed by the lecturer. She was being touched, hugged, and even kissed," said Masnoni.
Masnoni said that the police would immediately summon a number of witnesses and conduct scene investigations.

"If there are other victims who were also harassed, we urge them to report as well so that they can be assisted by the police," said Masnoni.
Previously, a student admitted to being a victim of sexual harassment by a thesis supervisor.
The victim, whose identity is not yet known, made a confession on social media and then uploaded it to the @palembang.eksis account on Instagram, Monday (27/9).
