jpnn.com, SURABAYA - Yogi Agung Prima Wardhana, the son of former Surabaya Legislative Council chairman, is one of the defendants in the convalescent plasma sale and purchase case.
His attorney, Ucok Jimmy Lamhot, revealed that his client is the son of 2009-2014 Surabaya Legislative Council chairman Wisnu Wardhana.

Wisnu was previously a fugitive and is currently serving a sentence in a corruption case after being found guilty of selling the assets of the East Java administration.
"That's right, my client is the son of the former chairman of the Surabaya Legislative Council," said Ucok after the follow-up trial of the convalescent plasma trade case at a local district court, Thursday (28/10).

Thursday's trial was Yogi's second trial.
He was accompanied by his team of attorneys to present a defense over the prosecutor's indictment.

Yogi claimed that he did not trade convalescent plasma, but only received insentives from Covid-19 patients.
In the previous trial, prosecutor Rahmat Hari Basuki charged Yogi with Article 195 of Law 36/2009 and Article 55 of the Criminal Code.
Rahmat accused the defendant Yogi, who worked as an employee of the Surabaya Red Cross blood donor unit in the health check section, of trading convalescent plasma for Rp 2.3 to Rp 3 million.
The convalescent plasma taken from the blood of survivors or people who have recovered from COVID-19 should be distributed to patients in need free of charge.
Yogi was not alone. Two of his colleagues, namely Bernadya Anisah Krismaningtyas and Mohammad Yusuf Efendi, allegedly played a role in finding buyers of the convalescent plasma. Yogi allegedly rewarded them with Rp 250,000 to Rp 300,000 per patient. (antara/mcr13/mcr20/jpnn)
