Over 70,000 Surabaya Junior High School Students Undergo Covid-19 Test

jpnn.com, SURABAYA - A total of 72,003 junior high school students in the city of Surabaya, East Java, are undergoing periodic antigen swab tests to detect Covid-19. The test will run from October 27 to October 29.

The Acting Head of Middle Schools of the Surabaya City Education Agency, Tri Aji Nugroho, said that the tests were carried out on the recommendations of the local health agency.

"This is based on the recommendation from the health agency that schools having face-to-face learning should conduct swab tests. This is to ensure that students and teachers remain safe," Tri said in Surabaya, Wednesday (27/10).

The antigen swab tests, said Tri, were part of early detection in the school environment.

"This is also part of the Surabaya administration's precautionary for the implementation of face-to-face learning," he added.

Regarding students who were confirmed positive of Covid-19, Tri said they did not necessarily form a cluster.
