jpnn.com, JAKARTA - Health Ministry spokesperson for Covid-19 vaccination, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, confirmed that no cases of Omicron had been detected in Indonesia.
"Based on the results of whole genome sequencing examinations, which the government continues to carry out intensively, the new variant of Covid-19, Omicron, has not been detected in Indonesia," Nadia said in a statement, Wednesday (12/8).

This statement denies the misinformation that said some case of B.1.1.529 was found in Bekasi regency, West Java.
Even so, Nadia emphasized that the Health Ministry continued to increase the scope of the examinations to anticipate the entry of the Omicron variant early.

She also reminded the public to continue to be vigilant against the threat of Covid-19, especially the Omicron variant, by implementing health protocols.
