"Right now, [Bali] is still in the emergency stage," said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy.
Landslides also occurred in several locations due to the earthquake, including in Trunyan Village, Kintamani, Bangli, where Muhadjir visited on Tuesday (19/10).
The minister urged the Bali administration, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), and the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) to deal with the impacts of the disaster with full effort.
There were at least five households affected by the landslide in the area where Muhadjir visited.
"I asked them to get temporary housing within this week. They should not be haunted by trauma as all their houses were destroyed and they can't find other places to stay," he said.
Three villages in Kintamani district, Bangli regency, were isolated because the only land route connecting the area to the city was affected by landslides. They were Trunyan village, Abangsongan village, and Abang Batudinding village, where 503 families inhabited.
The central and regional governments have distributed various kinds of assistance to isolated residents via waterways, ranging from food, clothing, and blankets to cleaning tools.
The central government has also distributed ready-to-use funds to affected regencies for post-earthquake needs, with each regency receiving Rp 250 million (US$17,680).
The minister also asked for special attention to women and children. (antara/lia/mcr20/jpnn)
