jpnn.com, JAKARTA - There have been 200 army personnel who have gone to Australia to conduct joint military training, according to the Deputy Chief of Indonesian Army Staff, Lieutenant General Bakti Agus Fadjari.

This activity is part of the Wirra Jaya Ausindo Joint Training series with the Australian Army for the 2021 fiscal year.

According to Bakti, the army personnel who participated in the training consisted of 105 Kostrad (Army Strategic Reserves Command) personnel and 95 representative personnel from each Kodam (Regional Military Command).

The training will be held in Darwin City, Australia, until early November 2021.

"All the Indonesian Army personnel departed for Australia were accompanied directly by the Commander of the Australian Army's 1st Division, Major General Justin Ellwood," said Bakti as broadcasted on YouTube, Wednesday (27/10).

Joint training with other countries is common for the Indonesian Army.

Bakti hoped that Indonesian personnel could make the best use of such event to establish relations between soldiers, as directed by the Army Chief of Staff General Andika Perkasa.

"The main thing that every soldier must do is to establish friendly relations, so they must know each other because it is a very strategic value," said Bakti. (cuy/mcr20/jpnn)
