jpnn.com, MALAYSIA - Senior mixed doubles badminton players Chan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying of Malaysia made shocking news as they were officially split after 13 years together.
This was revealed directly by Chan through his personal Instagram account @pschan88.

The 33-year-old badminton player admitted that it was hard to part with Goh Liu Ying.
"The 2021 BWF World Tour Finals was my last match with Liu Ying," Chan said.

"I have a heavy heart, it was not an easy decision. After all, we have played together for 13 years. We failed together, we succeeded together, we grew together," he added.
The announcement came just after Liu Ying decided not to take part in the BWF World Championships, which will take place in Spain, December 12-19.

They first paired up in 2009 and are considered to be the best mixed doubles the neighboring country has ever had.
The Malaysian duo won 12 World Tours titles and picked up a silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
