jpnn.com, JAWA TIMUR - Aremania spokesman Achmad Ghozali has confirmed the eruption of Mount Semeru, which is located in the Malang and Lumajang regencies in East Java.
Currently, Aremania volunteers are assisting the evacuation process in affected areas such as Pronojiwo and Ampel Gading.

"Ampel Gading, Pronojiwo, and Aremania all deployed volunteers to help evacuate residents there," Achmad said when contacted on Saturday (4/12) afternoon.
According to an initial report from the Aremania regional coordinator for the Amtirdam (Ampelgading, Tirtoyudo, and Dampit) area, the eruption of Mount Semeru was accompanied by hot clouds and avalanches of volcanic ash.

"Please pray [for us]. There have been no further reports. What is certain is that Aremania's residents around the affected areas are volunteering as well. Hopefully, there are no victims," Achmad added.
Previously, it was reported that Semeru erupted at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Many videos circulating online described the eruption this time was bigger than usual.
