Boarding House Owner Arrested for Selling Ecstasy Pills

jpnn.com, SIDOARJO - A man in Dares Pedaleman, Sidoarjo, East Java, has been arrested for selling ecstasy pills.

SH (41), who is the owner of a boarding house, was arrested by the Surabaya Police narcotics unit.

Unit head Commissioner Daniel Marunduri said that the perpetrator usually circulated the drugs in nightclubs.

The arrest was made after the police arrested FM, a driver who distributed the pills to SH.

"We found evidence of 27 plain green ecstasy pills of SH, which was hidden in a bag," Daniel said on Saturday (23/10).

SH was then taken to the Surabaya Police Headquarters to undergo an examination. He admitted to getting the pills from FM.

"SH bought ecstasy for Rp 275,000 (US$19.39) to resell at a price of Rp 350,000 per item," Daniel said.

SH was subject to Article 114 and Article 132 of Law Number 35/2009 concerning narcotics, which carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. (mcr12/mcr20/jpnn)
