jpnn.com, JAKARTA - Political observer Dedi Kurnia Syah responded to the Jakarta Legal Aid Institute (LBH), which provided a red report card for the four years of Anies Baswedan's leadership as the Jakarta Governor.

According to Dedi, the assessment submitted by LBH tends to have more elements of opinion than empirical measurements.

"Some of the points in the red report card are beyond LBH's expertise. However, the LBH report should be appreciated as a form of criticism," said Dedi to JPNN.com, Thursday (28/10).

"There needs to be a special note - the arrangement of the capital city is not fully charged to the performance of the provincial administration. There is a portion of the central government's authority," he added.

Dedi argued that under Anies' leadership, Jakarta's conditions were much better than before.

"In general, the condition of Jakarta today is much better, and changes in Jakarta are seen quickly when compared to the previous leadership," said Dedi.

According to Dedi, in a short period of time, Anies was able to prove that he could build Jakarta, although there were still shortcomings.

The most prominent advancement is the information disclosure, as well as program and policy innovation, according to him.

"Not everything started with Anies' idea, but he just continued. The success of continuing the work plan of the previous period is also an achievement," said the Executive Director of Indonesia Political Opinion.

Previously, LBH Jakarta launched a red report card for the four years of Anies' leadership in Jakarta.

In the report card, there were ten points that Anies failed to resolve, including the poor air quality in Jakarta, the difficulty to access clean water due to the privatization of water, the handling of floods, the urban village arrangement that is not participatory, and the limited access to legal aid.

They also included the difficulty of having a place to live in Jakarta, the problems that afflict coastal communities and small islands, the control of the pandemic, forced evictions, and reclamations. (cr1/mcr20/jpnn)
