Indonesia Masters Final Results: Japan Earns Most Wins

jpnn.com, BALI - The final of the 2021 Indonesia Masters has ended on Sunday (21/11) night. In the tournament, which was held at the Bali International Convention Center, Japan became the overall champion after stealing three titles.

The country of the Rising Sun won the titles on behalf of Kento Momota for men's singles, Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi for men's doubles, and Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida for women's doubles.

Japan's inaugural title in the tournament was won by the pair Hoki and Kobayashi, who successfully defeated the hosts' representatives Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo.

The pair ranked 10 in the world successfully defeated Marcus and Kevin through a three-game battle with a score of 21-11, 17-21, and 21-19.

Hoki and Kobayashi's victory was special because the two have not won in the last 10 matches against Marcus and Kevin.

After Hoki and Kobayashi, the pair Matsuyama and Shida won the women's doubles.

Matsuyama and Shida won after defeating South Korean players Jeong Na Eun and Kim Hye Jeong in two straight games with a score of 21-9 and 21-11.

Japan confirmed itself to become the overall champion in this event after Kento Momota beat Anders Antonsen in the final.

The number one seed of the 2021 Indonesia Masters won the title after defeating Antonsen with a score of 21-17, 21-11.

Unfortunately, Japan failed to win the title from the women's singles number as Akane Yamaguchi was defeated by An Seyoung from South Korea with a score of 17-21 and 19-21.
