jpnn.com, JAKARTA - The requirement for taking long-distance trains in Indonesia is now simpler. Prospective passengers just need to bring a Covid-19 rapid test certificate with a negative result. They should be tested a maximum of 24 hours before departure.

This provision is effective starting November 3, 2021.

The regulation adjusts to the issuance of the Ministry of Transportation's Circular Letter Number 97/2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Rail Transportation During the Covid-19 Pandemic.

"[State-owned train operator] KAI always follows and complies with all regulations from the government in preventing the spread of Covid-19 on rail transportation modes," said KAI's VP of Public Relations, Joni Martinus.
