jpnn.com, BALI - Japanese badminton player Akane Yamaguchi has beaten An Seyoung from South Korea in the second match of Group B at the 2021 BWF World Tour Finals.

Akane avenged An Seyoung's defeat in the final of the 2021 Indonesia Masters, where Akane lost two straight games with a score of 17-21 and 19-21.

Competing at the Bali International Convention Center, Thursday (2/12), Akane won against An Seyoung through a three-game battle with a score of 21-14, 18-21, and 21-16 in 56 minutes.

After the match, Akane admitted that she saw An Seyoung's physique was not very fit in the match. This was used by her to attack the South Korean's defense.

"I saw that An's condition in this match was not so good. I tried to take advantage by playing pressing," said Akane.

After this victory, the world number three player will face Busanan Ongbamrungphan from Thailand in the next match.

Akane has technically won one match. Her previous opponent, Yeo Jia Min, withdrew due to injury. (mcr16/mcr20/jpnn)
